St. Peter's Primary Schools Festival - 9th June 2008
A big thanks to everyone who turned out to support the Primary Schools festival at Henfield Cricket Club. Five local schools, St. Peter's (Henfield), St. Andrews (Steyning), Upper Beeding, Ashurst and Jolesfield, competed in this annual tournament on a hot, sunny day. St. Andrews won the festival, beating St. Peter's in a decider that would have taken the league to a three-way tie with Jolesfield had St. Peter's pulled off a win.
Our club hosted a great day for everyone. Mon and Olga, for preparing the usual great lunches, and all our colts' coaching team, deserve thanks for helping the event to run smoothly and for supporting the schools' teams. And above all, the schools teams and their staff deserve great praise for enduring the warm weather and playing cricket in such good spirit, and with no little skill. Seeing the common packed with young cricketers was a pleasure. Well done to everyone.
