Fantastic memories of halcient summer days in the Sussex downs. Silvo and Colgate surely tried to get me drunk when I should have been drinking Barley Water!!!! I still play a bit and owe a lot to those oracles of the game who taught me so much. I will keep an eye on the field... so to speak. Best wishes to those who remember me. Geoff. |

Nice to see my old dad Jerry Hodgson still appears in the 2nd XI bowling records after all this time. He is now 76 and lives near Tours. |

My son found your site and let me know. Good to see so many of my generation still figuring in your lists. Surprising to find so little of Trevor Adcock, I thought he was a sure record breaker. Great memories of the club and the cricket weeks. And hey, didn't I get a 1st team hat trick at Rottingdean somewhen - all caught in the outfield I believe - laughing stock of the day. Henfield CC Replies: Thank you to Jerry for taking the time to post on the Guestbook. He is the club's record wicket-taker for the 2nd XI in any one season, with 122 wickets. He currently stands 23rd on the all-time wicket-taking list for the 1st XI and 9th for the 2nd XI.

Further to my comments the other day (Henfield v H.Montefiore),someone once said "a bad reputation is better than no reputation at all". Not sure about that...........(!) |

Henfield v Hove Montefiore 1975-following an LBW decision by Tom Bing off Andy Lyon really exploded on the field. Can remember catching Dave Silverson diving,one-handed,off Roy Lee. Our modest score turned out be enough!John Bushell went ballistic on me that day.............. Best regards! |

An excellent website!
Putting together the stats for all ex Henfield players must have been a massive task. Very interesting to read through though. |

Has anyone actually checked silvo's stats as i think there has been a few extra zeros added at the end of all the columns. Henfield CC Replies: Good to hear from our first past-player on the Guestbook!

I have enjoyed reading about the Club. I note that Trevor Adcock leads the averages. We - Noel Bennett's X1 - regularly played your Club. I can distinctly remember one Sunday afternoon when Trevor came in at Number 3 with a new bat. " Just trying it out" . 100 runs later we wished he had not bothered. He was a cricketer of great stature and prescence. Astonishing that young Silverson is still going ... Derek Henfield CC Replies: Derek - many thanks for getting us started
