Bunbury Under 15 Festival 2006 - Henfield has been chosen as the host for the opening of the 20th Bunbury ESCA Under 15 Festival to be staged in Sussex in 2006. The match to be staged on the Common on 23rd July is likely to be contested between a Lashings International XI and the England -17s. More to follow ...

The annual festival for the country's top -15 cricketers (North, South, Midlands and West regions) takes place at Preston Nomads and Blackstone between 24th and 28th July. The last fifteen years have seen many of England's current test squad taking part, including Michael Vaughan, Marcus Trescothick, Andrew Flintoff, Ashley Giles, Ian Bell and Matt Prior.

Henfield CC Annual Dinner - The club's annual dinner took place at Signing Hills Golf club on 18th November. See News Item here ...

Sussex Youth Cricket Awards 2005 - Under 16 captain Craig Scott was presented with the Player of the Season award for the Southern Area -15s at the Sussex Youth Cricket Awards on 14th October. See Colts News item here ...

Henfield was also presented officially with the Clubmark accreditation at the awards night at Hove Town Hall, alongside four other Sussex clubs. 400 clubs across England are now accredited, and Henfield is one of 12 so far in Sussex. See ECB story here ...

Quiz Night Success for Long Haul - A fiercely-fought quiz night was eventually won by The Long Haul team after the lead changed hands several times. Mark, Audrey and Lyndsey Smith were joined fresh! off the flight from Australia by the newly-wed Cramptons to steal it in the last round from the Pheasant Pluckers and Blake's Four. Another successful packed house and quiz was hosted by Kevin Thorns. Thanks to Kev and to all for coming along.

Henfield are Sussex Invitation League Division Two Champions! - Saturday's win at Selsey means that Henfield's 1st XI have won the Division Two title with a game to spare. More here ...

Horsham win Lords final - Congratulations to Horsham on winning the Cockspur National Club competition at Lords. Our very own Chris Garcia has been guesting for them, and took a wicket and scored two in a nailbiting finish. Reports on the final are here and we hope to get Chris's reflections on the game at some point....

Henfield Test Cricketer - We have discovered, thanks to Chris Crampton's detailed research, that Henfield player, Henry Charlwood, represented England in the first two test matches ever played, between England and Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in 1877, and is listed as no.2 on Englands list of test caps.

Ashes Test Match Draw - The winning ticket in our grand draw for Ashes Test Match tickets was No. 178 bought by Mr. P.Hanby of Smallfields Cricket Club. The draw took place on 29th June at the Henfield Cup 20/20 final, and was drawn by Mr.C.Warne, President of Poynings Cricket Club. Many congratulations to Mr. Hanby, and thanks to all who supported the club by participating.

Clubmark - We're thrilled to announce that Henfield has been awarded Clubmark accreditation by the ECB and Sport England as of 1st July.
