Before we launch into the 2018 season, it is worth reflecting on last season.

We fielded three men’s Saturday league teams, playing in Divisions 1, 3 and 7 of the West Sussex Invitational Cricket League. The First Eleven came second, and following the league restructure this winter, secured their position in the new Sussex Cricket League Division 4 West. The Second and Third Elevens, whilst having challenging seasons, were not relegated, and this year will be playing in Division 7 West and Division 10 North West respectively. We also ran two Sunday friendly sides giving opportunities to up and coming players and Colts, and those not wanting the pressure of league cricket, a chance to play senior cricket.

The Women’s Eleven entered the Whitehorn League and the Sussex Foundation T20, and the team continues to improve and looks forward to the forthcoming season.

The U19’s team entered the NatWest T20 Cup and narrowly missed reaching the County Final’s Day.

The three Colts sides, U14’s, U12’s and U10’s, were entered in both the Sussex Area Cricket League, and the Sussex Junior Cricket Festivals, and whilst no honours were won, the youth teams continue to provide the lifeblood of the senior sides. The First Eleven currently has eight regular players who came up through Henfield Colts .

Henfield CC participated in the ECB Allstars Programme, which ran on a Friday night along with Colts training and attracted nearly 100 boys and girls weekly and created a great social atmosphere for the parents in the pavilion and bar.

We are very much looking forward to another fabulous summer of cricket this year.
